The Multiwave Locked System (MLS) Therapy Laser was developed to help with pain, inflammation, and edema. This unique technology features more accurate therapeutic dose delivery which means MLS Therapy in Greer SC has repeatable and consistent results.
1. ANTI-INFLAMMATORY
Reduce inflammation and edema by stimulating lymphatic drainage and vasodilation.
2. ANALGESIC
Stimulate the production of endorphins and enkephalin to block the transmission of painful sensations to the brain. Reduced pain is also a secondary result of reduced edema and inflammation.
3. ACCELERATED TISSUE REPAIR AND CELL GROWTH
Photons penetrate deep into the tissue and accelerate cellular growth and reproduction. Laser increases the energy available to cells so they can take on nutrients, remove waste, and repair themselves faster.
4. IMPROVED VASCULAR ACTIVITY
Increase the formation of capillaries in damaged tissue to accelerate the healing process. Additional benefits include temporary vasodilation and an increase in blood vessel diameter.
5. INCREASED METABOLIC ACTIVITY
Create higher outputs of specific enzymes, greater oxygen and food particle loads for blood cells.
6. TRIGGER AND ACUPUNCTURE POINTS
Stimulate acupuncture and muscle trigger points to non-invasively provide musculoskeletal pain relief.
7. REDUCED FIBROUS TISSUE FORMATION
Reduce the formation of scar tissue following tissue damage from cuts, scratches, burns, or surgery
8. IMPROVED NERVE FUNCTION
Accelerate the process of nerve cell re-connection and increase the amplitude of action potentials to optimize muscle healing.
9. IMMUNOREGULATION
Stimulate immunoglobulins and lymphocytes. Activate the enzyme flavomononucleotide to start the production of ATP—the major carrier
of cell energy and the energy source for all chemical reactions in the cells.10. FASTER WOUND HEALING
Stimulate the development of fibroblast—an essential protein for tissue repair. As a result, MLS Laser Therapy is effective for postsurgical healing and the treatment of open wounds and burns.

MLS Laser Therapy and Shockwave
Dr. Abrams’ shockwave device utilizes electrohydraulic acoustic waves to promote tissue regeneration. While effective, some patients may experience plateaus or soreness posttreatment. “That’s where laser comes in as my hero,” Abrams explains. “If we combine the laser with shockwave, patients typically don’t have that soreness the next day. You get the best of both worlds.”
MLS Laser Therapy uses synchronized wavelengths of light energy to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, reducing pain and inflammation. Working at the cellular level, MLS Laser Therapy is a synergistic complement to shockwave’s effects on tissue regeneration.
“Combined with shockwave, MLS Laser Therapy enhanced my results by 50%.” Abrams first introduced this dual therapy to his neuropathy patients, targeting the lower extremities to stimulate blood flow, downregulate pain and inflammation, and support connective tissue and nerve regeneration.
For discogenic neuropathy, MLS Laser Therapy can also be paired with spinal decompression to reduce inflammation around the disc while the decompression table addresses the underlying disc herniation.
Seeing consistently positive results, Abrams expanded these therapies to a broader range of musculoskeletal conditions. From plantar fasciitis to chronic knee and shoulder pain, this multimodal approach helps him achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients.
“We have an 85% success rate of patients getting at least 50% or better.”
MLS Laser Therapy and Spinal Decompression
MLS Laser Therapy can also be used to improve the comfort of severely inflamed herniated discs, making spinal decompression more tolerable.
“If a patient is too inflamed, even though they qualify for spinal decompression from an orthopedic perspective, they may have so much inflammation in their back that putting them on the table will trigger too much inflammation when we distract that area,” Abrams
explains.“Not often, but there have been times when we’ll put a patient on the decompression table, and it’s too much. They can’t handle it after a few minutes because they have too much inflammation in the disc.”
Prior to offering laser therapy, Abrams had limited options for patients who couldn’t tolerate decompression. “Now we do three or four laser sessions to reduce that inflammation before we get them back on the decompression table to address the disc. That laser does the trick.”
By preparing patients with a painless, noninvasive intervention, Abrams expands treatment possibilities and improves overall outcomes.
Technologies
Dr. Abrams introduced MLS Laser Therapy into his practice with the M7 MLS Therapy Laser. With a robotic delivery system, the M7 automatically scans wide treatment areas, such as the lower back and hips, to evenly distribute laser energy and guarantee consistent dosing.
Patients saw great clinical results, and the robotic system freed staff to focus on other practice services while patients received automated treatments.
More recently, Dr. Abrams introduced the newest, manually-operated MLS device to his practice—the M-Hi MLS Therapy Laser.
With more focused delivery, the M-Hi is ideal for treatment areas requiring a higher degree of precision, such as the neck and joints. Additionally, the higher peak power shortens treatment times and speeds up the resolution of symptoms.
“Patients feel more of a change on day one with the M-Hi than they do with the M7 because there’s more power,” Abrams explains.
With both lasers in his practice, Dr. Abrams and his team can treat patients at a larger scale with highly effective plans that leverage the unique benefits of each device based on clinical and logistical needs.
Guiding Principles
Dr. Abrams’s strategic investment in advanced treatment technologies has opened opportunities to expand the scope of his practice.
“If you want to help more people in your community, you need more tools in your arsenal to do so,” Dr. Abrams reflects. “I love the power of Chiropractic, but it’s not the only tool. We have access to these amazing new advanced therapies that enable us to help people on a
much larger scale.”As part of his commitment to help his community, Dr. Abrams follows three guiding principles: Innovation. Intention. Authenticity.
“Those three things are what I’m standing on as far as the success that we have had with our clinic and with incorporating these regenerative therapies.”
Encouraging his colleagues to adopt a similar mindset, Abrams acknowledges that it requires thinking beyond the scope of traditional chiropractic care.
“In order to be innovative, you have to step outside of your comfort zone. Invest in your practice and your community for a better clinical outcome measure,” Abrams urges. “Whatever you do, you have to be authentic. Patients will see your passion and your desire
to help them get well.”By combining traditional chiropractic care with advanced technologies, Dr. Abrams has built a practice that consistently delivers measurable, lasting results. Guided by his philosophy, Abrams continues to expand access to healing in his community, providing a
model for chiropractors ready to elevate their care and impact.
